Paul is a visionary and innovative thinker; he is passionate about serving a vision greater than his own. Over the past four years as State President, Paul has led ACC NSW & ACT (over 300 churches) through an extraordinary time, including drought, fire, floods, and a global pandemic. In a season where the church has had to re-invent itself, Paul is committed to challenging and equipping local church pastors and leaders.
Paul is the author of two books, Thank God It’s Monday and his most recent book Re-Think It. Unlearning how we think, to reach a changing world that’s thinking less about church.
Additionally, Paul is the national leader of ACC Community Engagement, which is focused on equipping over 1,100 churches to think and act differently regarding community development. Paul is one of the nation’s leading voices influencing the way that the local church views its role in effectively engaging its community.
Paul’s served as the leader of Lighthouse for 22 years and has recently transitioned out of this role. Lighthouse is a well-known, trusted and influential church in the region that meets the needs of people in the community through a variety of initiatives including a weekly pop-up restaurant, homeless youth housing, chaplaincy with the NBL Basketball team, the Hawks and the church’s school Cedars Christian College and its 800 students.
Based in Wollongong, Paul has been married to his wife Annette for 35 years and have three adult children and two grandchildren.
